elastics (rubber bands)
Elastics help amend the fit of upper and lower teeth by applying mild pressure to your jaw. They work very well when worn as directed. Elastics are available in a variety of colors.
palatal expander
At Ries Orthodontics we will advise you on when to adjust your expander. This appliance places gentle pressure on your upper molars in order to widen your upper jaw.
positioners
Positioners move teeth into their final position. At the positioned stage, you should be entering your final stages of orthodontic treatment.
separators or spacers
Separators are small rubber circles placed between teeth to push teeth apart.
